As a retired Presbyterian minister, I have from time to time been asked to mentor pastors new to ministry or new to our area. I decided to take coach training initially to equip me to be a more effective mentor. One session into the training I realized that every pastor -- no, I will go even further and say every person -- can benefit from having a coach. Every one of us needs someone in our lives who will listen intently and ask important questions, all without an agenda -- someone who is not trying to "fix" anything for us, but who walks with us as we find our own way forward.

Co-active coaching assumes that every person is innately creative, resourceful, and whole. At any given moment that may not feel true for you, but a trained coach can draw out your creativity and resourcefulness and help you move toward wholeness. If you are looking for someone to come alongside as you explore possibilities or struggle to deal with obstacles, I would be glad to talk with you about establishing a coaching relationship.
